About QRF

You are here

We are a small club based in Brisbane working on showing the world just how great rats and mice are. We are a fun, sociable group who love talking to fellow rodent owners and increasing awareness of our wonderful small pets. We were founded in 2000 under the name of "Australian Rodent Fanciers Society of Queensland Incorporated (AusRFS QLD)" - originally a branch of AusRFS VIC & AusRFS NSW. Over time we have developed different ways of operating from the other Australian clubs, so in 2014 our name was changed to "Queensland Rodent Fanciers (QRF)" to reflect the change. These pages will tell you more about our club and our activities, along with information on caring for and showing your pets.

Our Objectives

  • To provide a social forum for owners of rats and mice.
  • To encourage responsible care and breeding of rats and mice.
  • To offer owners opportunities to show their rats and mice.
  • To provide information on keeping and caring for rats and mice to individuals and organisations.
  • To increase public awareness of fancy rats and mice as valued house pets.
  • To offer education and information about native Australian rodents.
